Pair of Fina Filipina armchairs, designed by Spanish architect and designer Oscar Tusquets Blanca for Driade/Aleph in 1994. The chairs reinterpret the traditional wicker armchair with a distinctive sculptural silhouette and generous rounded backrest. The woven structure is built around a slim metal frame, making the chairs both lightweight and stackable. The combination of the warm brown woven finish and tubular metal legs gives them a particularly relaxed yet sophisticated Mediterranean character. An iconic 1990s Driade design and an excellent example of Tusquets Blanca's playful approach to traditional forms. The model was awarded the Delta de Plata design prize.
