UD Chair by Jean Pauchard for Tolix, 1958 Iconic industrial chair designed by French designer Jean Pauchard for Tolix in 1958. Known as the UD Chair, the model was originally designed for the Université de Dijon and is a distinctive example of Pauchard’s characteristic approach to functional metal furniture. With its sculptural tubular steel frame and industrial character, the UD Chair combines a strong architectural presence with the practicality for which Tolix is renowned. A less commonly seen Pauchard design and an interesting piece of French design history.
