The Eames RE Plastic Armchair DAR, designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1950, features a molded plastic seat on a steel "Eiffel Tower" base. Originally introduced at MoMA’s “Low Cost Furniture Design” competition, the chair was part of a versatile series with interchangeable bases. Today, Vitra produces the updated RE version using 100% recycled plastic from German household packaging, reducing emissions and energy use. The chair remains recyclable and offers improved comfort and quality. Moulded white plastic with foam padding upholstered in dark brown textile and chromed steel legs. Labeled. The armchair is in used, good condition. Slight age-related wear and insignificant scratch marks. The rim of the seating part of the armchair with dirt. Comes off easy if gently washed.
