Product Description:+
Rare pair of “Eisenmöbel” chairs designed by Le Corbusier in 1925, produced as a later redesign by Anthologie Quartett, Bad Essen. The pair consists of one armchair and one side chair, both made from zinc-plated iron with beautifully sculptural, hand-worked detailing. The characteristic heart-shaped backs, curled iron elements and slender, organically curved legs give the chairs an unusually decorative expression, quite different from Le Corbusier’s better-known modernist furniture. Both chairs retain their floral upholstered seat cushions, adding a wonderfully eccentric French character to the otherwise industrial metal construction. A particularly striking and unusual pair for a dining room, conservatory, entrance hall or eclectic interior. Le Corbusier, 1925 (redesign) Anthologie Quartett, Bad Essen Zinc-plated iron One armchair + one chair Model: LC02.01.00.62.0 / LC02.02.00.62.0
