LOOSE ENDS 002: CRISTIAN LIND

Photos: Märta Thisner. By: Leo Forssell

Name: Cristian Lind
Occupation: Founder of Temporärt & Contem

What is your relationship with furniture?
Since childhood, I have been deeply drawn to furniture, always feeling an urge to refresh and reshape the spaces around me. As an adult, I’ve reflected on this impulse, coming to understand the true value of good design, the energy it breathes into a room, and the reason I still find myself devoted to this.

What does an icon mean to you?
It is an object with such a powerful design that it becomes a reference point.

Is it easy for you to part with things?
Both yes and no — I can feel a strong emotional attachment, often rooted in the history of the item and its story with its previous owner.

Is there a piece you dream of owning?
A beautifully patinated Eames Lounge Chair, complete with its ottoman, a timeless companion.

Cristian recently opened a new workshop and showroom for Contem at Tavastgatan 2B. He’s also selling a Poul Kjærholm dining table that once graced a beautiful artist’s studio, along with a few early Contem prototypes on Used Icons.
