How to Add a Listing to Used Icons

To list your icons, you first need to create an account. This requires an email address and password. You can also use Google or Facebook to create an account.

Once you have created an account, click on “Create a Listing.”

Adding a Listing to Used Icons Consists of Four Steps

1. Your Details

  • Name
    What is the name of your icon?

  • Description
    Tell us a little more about your icon, such as when and where you purchased it. Does it have any patina or unique marks? Do you have more than one? We will automatically populate your listing with details such as dimensions, materials, and information about the brand and designer. Focus on your icon’s condition and what makes it unique.

  • Brand
    What is the brand or manufacturer?

  • Designer
    Who designed it? If you’re unsure, you can leave this blank.

  • Condition
    Please select a pre-set option that corresponds to your icon’s current condition.

2. Pricing

You have two options when setting a price:

  • Help me find the best asking price (default option)
    If this is checked, you don’t need to do anything else. We will provide you with a suggested asking price for your listing. You can choose to accept or reject our suggestion—you’re in control. Once we provide the price, you’ll have the opportunity to select packages, apply voucher codes, etc.

  • Adding your own asking price
    If you have a specific asking price in mind, you can enter it. We will review your price and contact you if adjustments are needed. When setting your own price, you must select a package. We currently offer two options and provide a breakdown of fees and your earnings once your listing is sold.

Our Packages

  • Classic (20% Commission)
  • Your item remains in your possession until it sells.
  • Once sold, we will arrange pickup and delivery.
  • Support is handled via email.

  • Premium (35% Commission)
  • Your item receives increased visibility and exposure.
  • Depending on your location you have the option to have your item picked up before it is sold.
  • If you don’t want to store the item at home, we can display it in our showroom.

3. Location

Specify where the icon is located. We are currently active in Sweden, but we will expand to more markets in the future. Your address is stored securely and is not publicly visible on the Used Icons website. It is only used internally when scheduling a pickup.

4. Photos

Please upload images of your icon, including:

  • At least one full image of the item.
  • Close-ups of any wear, tear, stains, or marks of authenticity.

After a Listing Has Been Submitted

Once you submit your listing, we will review and complete it by adding dimensions and additional product details (such as brand and designer). We will also ensure that the images are clear and presentable.

  • Once your listing is finalized, you will receive an email.
  • Before your listing goes live, you have the final right of approval to confirm that you’re satisfied with the details, price, and overall presentation.
  • Once approved, your listing will be scheduled for publication, and you’ll receive an email notification when it’s live.
  • You can track your active listings on the “My Listings” page.
  • Since Used Icons is a curated marketplace, there is a chance that your listing may not be approved. If that happens, we will contact you, and your listing will be marked as “Declined.”

Registering Your Payout Details

To receive payments from Used Icons when your listing is sold, you need to register a bank account. All payouts are processed securely through Stripe.

  • If your bank account is not already linked to a Stripe account, Stripe may require additional information. You will be prompted to complete this after entering your payout details in your account settings.
  • Important: Your listing cannot be purchased unless you have registered your payout details. This only needs to be done once.

Commission

Creating a listing on Used Icons is completely free. When your icon is sold, we subtract the commission from the selling price (excluding shipping costs) before transferring the money to your bank account.

Payout

Used Icons will hold the payment until the item is delivered to the buyer and approved. Depending on shipping times, this can take a few days. You will receive updates via email regarding the status of your shipment.


How to Buy a Used Icon

To purchase an item on Used Icons, you need an account. If you click “Buy Now” without an account, you will be prompted to log in first.

Depending on the location of the icon, various pickup and delivery options, along with their prices, will be displayed.

Shipping Methods

  • Pickup
    Pick up your icon at our showroom: Hallvägen 29, Slakthusområdet, Stockholm.
    We will notify you by email when your icon is ready for pickup.

  • Shipping
    A shipping cost will be added based on your location, as well as the size and weight of the icon.

  • DIY Shipping
    You can arrange your own shipping from our showroom in Slakthusområdet, Stockholm.

Payment

As with any online purchase, you will need to provide:

  • Shipping/billing details
  • A credit/debit card number

We plan to add more payment methods, such as direct deposit, in the future.

After Completing a Purchase

After purchase, funds are held by Used Icons until the item has been delivered and approved by you.

Delivery

  • We will contact you shortly after purchase to arrange delivery. Shipping times may vary depending on the locations of both you and the item.
  • You can choose your preferred delivery date.
  • On the morning of delivery, we will call you to confirm a more specific drop-off time.
  • All deliveries are handled by Used Icons’ delivery service and require someone to be home to receive the package.
